BANGKOK 26 March 2011 (NNT)-Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Thani Thongpakdi said the government had expressed condolences to Myanmar, adding that Thailand would donate 3 million baht to the Burmese government.
Following a powerful quake in Myanmar, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva had sent a letter expressing his condolences for the loss of lives and properties in that country while the Foreign Minister had sent a letter with the preliminary aid of 3 million THB, while stating that more assistance would be made to help Myanmar people who had been affected by the quake.
The Thai Embassy in Yangon will be giving
updates on the situation in Myanmar to the Thai government and whether
further assistance is needed.
